It’s not what you do, it’s how you do it.

Toni Potters

I would like to acknowledging that the land on which I work and live is on the traditional, ancestral and unceded territory of Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Úxwumixw (Squamish Nation).
I am a wedding officiant, birth doula, and yoga & meditation instructor. I have been instructing yoga for 18 years now, mostly in downtown TO, from rural ON and into the Caribbean, in AB and now BC.  I began by teaching adults throughout TO, was a Lululemon Ambassador, and spent time in Chennai at Krishnamacharya Yoga Mandarim studying yoga therapy and vedic chanting.  Eventually my work evolved into children’s yoga. Combining my training in yoga with my diploma in Early Childhood Education, I developed a children’s yoga program that I used in the public and private school district, among many other private institutions.

During this time, while studying Community Wellness and Peace Building at OISE at University of Toronto,  I became pregnant with my own daughter.  This was the seed that opened me up to prenatal and postnatal yoga, as well as my work as a doula.  I recognized the necessity for strong community and support in the lives of women regarding birth, child rearing and family.  I began to study prenatal yoga with Monica Voss at Ester Myers Yoga Studio and have since moved on to a doula mentorship with Sasha Padron at The Centre for Growing Families.

Offering my services as a reverend, is just a natural outgrowth of everything else.

This cumulation of living, training, practice and teaching has lead me to the present time.

Lately, my little family and I call Squamish home. It’s here that I feel inspired to answer my own call towards nature. Forest bathing, skiing, chasing my daughter up mountains and loving this life I am so blessed to live.

If you were to ask me what style of yoga I teach, I would say that I offer each individual the practice of authenticity. From pregnant Mama through childhood into adulthood, each of us requires a yoga practice as unique as we are as individuals.

I draw from many influences all rooted in the concept of balance. Uniting the body and breath using asana which are the yoga postures, pranayama which is breath work, meditation; and mindfulness. Using these powerful tools, together we create a practice that is simple, accessible and unique to your walk through this world.

This is where my yoga philosophy informs my current projects, Wedding Officiant, Pre & Post Natal Yoga facilitation, and Birthing Doula Care.

It’s been a ripening of the cumulation of professional practice and deep personal work that has brought me, gratefully to this place.

Wherever you find yourself in life: about to join yours with another, about to welcome another or seeking to deepen your relationship with yourself, my work is to tenderly hold space for you while you bring forth this next season of your life.

Angela Bliss | Photography

Angela was born and raised in rural Ontario, always chasing after an artistic and lasting experience.  She picked up her first SLR camera at 15 years old, learning all about the craft – from setting up the shot, to dark room development.  One of her first jobs as a teenager was in a one-hour-photo lab, around the time that digital SLR cameras were being developed.  Photography is a completely different game these days, and Angela continues to educate herself and strive for perfection in all sessions – but the number one priority for her is to capture authentic, emotional moments that will stand the test of time.

After the birth of her daughter three years ago, Angela was determined to make her dreams a reality, and made the leap into a photography business.  She loves working with babies and families, and her specialties include maternity, posed newborn, births and fresh 48 sessions.

Tammy Lapointe | Baby Rocking

You might recognize Tammy from around town.  She is a much beloved teacher at Squamish Elementary.  One day she recognized, ‘I want to be a baby rocker’ and thus the fruition of her long desired passion project began.

A single Mama herself, from day one, Tammy recognized the need for new parents to take a break, to shower, to eat, to nap, to take a walk and know that the new babe is in trusted arms.  She knows that it does take a village, and that is why she offers her own generous arms and heart so freely.
